Overview
Me Against The World, released on 14 March 1995, marked 2Pac's third solo studio album and is widely regarded as one of the defining releases of his career. For the Live Squad archive, however, the album is particularly significant due to the inclusion of So Many Tears, one of Stretch's final officially released collaborations with 2Pac.
Early versions of So Many Tears (Original Version) featured Stretch performing an entire guest verse alongside 2Pac. During the album's production, Stretch's verse was removed from the final master, although his background vocals and ad-libs remain audible throughout the commercially released version. As a result, Stretch continued to receive an official featured artist credit alongside Digital Underground and Thug Life despite no longer performing a full verse on the finished recording.
The original version featuring Stretch's complete verse later surfaced on unreleased recordings, providing a fascinating insight into the song's development and preserving one of the final collaborations between 2Pac and his long-time friend and Live Squad member.
