Overview
So Many Tears (Original Version) is the earliest known recording of one of 2Pac's most celebrated songs. Recorded during the Me Against the World sessions in 1994, this version features a full guest verse by Stretch in addition to Tupac's vocals.
Before the album was completed, the recording was substantially reworked. Stretch's verse was removed, leaving only his background vocals on the commercially released version. The finished album version subsequently appeared on Me Against the World in March 1995 and became one of the defining tracks of Tupac's career.
The original recording remained unheard by the public for many years before circulating among collectors. It provides a rare insight into the development of the song and demonstrates how the arrangement evolved before the final album master was chosen. For followers of Stretch's work, it represents one of the most significant unreleased collaborations between him and Tupac.
