Overview
Wrong Nigga (Original Version) is an unreleased recording by Live Squad, recorded during the sessions for the group's planned second album, Diary Of A Poor Man. The song was intended for the original album sequence but remained unreleased when the project was shelved.
Recorded during one of the most productive periods of Stretch and Majesty's career, the song reflects the darker, more mature sound that Live Squad had developed following the cancellation of Game Of Survival. By 1994, the group's production had become harder and more cinematic, while their lyrics focused on the realities of street life, loyalty and survival.
Although the original recording has never received an official commercial release, it remains one of the key songs associated with the Diary Of A Poor Man project and demonstrates the direction Live Squad were taking before Stretch's untimely death.
Recording History
Wrong Nigga was recorded during the 1994 Diary Of A Poor Man sessions alongside songs including Danger Times, It Hurts The Most, Money N Murder and Hectic.
The album was never commercially released, leaving the recording unheard for many years. A later version of the song subsequently surfaced among collectors as part of the Ghetto Blues Sessions. That version features an updated outro recorded by Majesty after the deaths of Stretch and E-Moneybags, making it a separate recording from the original 1994 version.
The original Wrong Nigga therefore represents the earliest known version of the song and documents Live Squad's work during the Diary Of A Poor Man era before any later revisions were made.
