Overview
Whirlwind is an unreleased Live Squad recording from the group's final Ghetto Blues recording sessions in 1995. The track was recorded after Live Squad departed Tommy Boy Records and forms part of the final body of work completed by the group before Stretch's death on 30th November 1995.
Although never officially released, Whirlwind has circulated privately amongst collectors for many years and remains one of the final known recordings associated with the abandoned Ghetto Blues project.
Recording History
Whirlwind was recorded during the final sessions for Live Squad's unreleased Ghetto Blues album. By this stage the group had left Tommy Boy Records and were independently recording new material intended for a future release.
The Ghetto Blues sessions ultimately produced the last known recordings by Live Squad before Stretch was murdered in November 1995, bringing the project to an abrupt end. As a result, Whirlwind remains officially unreleased.
