Shit List

Overview

Shit List is an unreleased recording by Live Squad, believed to have been recorded during the sessions for the group's planned second album, Diary Of A Poor Man, later commonly referred to by collectors as Ghetto Blues. Although never commercially released, the song is known to have formed part of the extensive catalogue of material recorded by Stretch and Majesty during 1994.

The title suggests an aggressive, confrontational theme that was common throughout Live Squad's work during this period. While very little verified information about the recording has surfaced, it is representative of the group's uncompromising lyrical style and darker production that distinguished their later material from their earlier Tommy Boy releases.

For the Live Squad archive, Shit List is another important surviving title from the group's unreleased catalogue and reflects the remarkable amount of material created before the project was ultimately shelved.

The exact recording date has never been officially confirmed, although collector research places the recording among the sessions for Live Squad's unreleased second album during 1994.

Very little documentation has survived regarding the song's production, recording location or intended release. As with many recordings from the project, the cancellation of the album meant that Shit List remained unreleased.

Despite its obscurity, the song continues to be recognised by collectors as one of the many unreleased recordings that demonstrate the creative output of Stretch and Majesty during the final years of Live Squad's original career.
