Shit List

Overview

Shit List is an unreleased recording by Live Squad, recorded during the sessions for the group's planned Game Of Survival album. The track was intended for release through Tommy Boy Records before the label ultimately dropped the group, leaving the album unfinished and officially unreleased.

Built around a dark, aggressive production, Shit List reflects the harder musical direction Live Squad had developed during the mid-1990s. Like much of the material recorded for Game Of Survival, the song remained unheard by the public for many years before circulating privately amongst collectors.

Today, Shit List is regarded as one of the key recordings from Live Squad's unreleased second album and provides an important insight into the group's final Tommy Boy recording sessions.

Recording History

Shit List was recorded during the sessions for Live Squad's planned Game Of Survival album while the group were signed to Tommy Boy Records. The album was intended to follow their 1992 debut Murderahh! and marked a significant progression in both the group's production and lyrical style.

Although the exact recording date has never been confirmed, the song is believed to have been completed during 1993 before Tommy Boy elected not to release the album. Live Squad subsequently left the label, bringing the project to an end before it could be commercially issued.

Despite remaining officially unreleased, Shit List has survived amongst collectors and remains one of the best-known recordings from the abandoned Game Of Survival sessions.
