Overview

Regulate was released in 2001 on the Regulate / Big Time 12-inch single issued by Grand Imperial Records. The recording is a remake of the original version that appeared on In E Money Bags We Trust (1999). For the 2001 release, Majesty of Live Squad replaced Capone, while Prodigy's original appearance was retained.

The remake was released shortly after the death of E-Moneybags and formed one half of the label's final commercial single. Alongside Big Time, it showcased Grand Imperial Records' continuing efforts to preserve and promote the work of both E-Moneybags and Live Squad.

For the Live Squad archive, the song is significant as one of Majesty's final official commercial appearances and demonstrates the close relationship between Majesty and E-Moneybags following the end of Live Squad's original recording career.

Recording History

The original version of Regulate appeared on In E Money Bags We Trust in 1999 and featured Capone alongside E-Moneybags and Prodigy. For the 2001 single, Grand Imperial Records re-recorded the song, replacing Capone with Majesty while retaining Prodigy's contribution.

A promotional music video was also produced to accompany the single, featuring Majesty and Prodigy performing alongside footage honouring E-Moneybags following his death.

Unlike Big Time, which incorporated archived vocals from 2Pac and Live Squad, Regulate was newly recorded specifically for the 2001 single.
