Overview
Trapped Promo (PRCD 4178) is the compact disc promotional counterpart to the vinyl promo issued in support of 2Pac's debut single Trapped. Produced for radio stations, journalists and music industry professionals, the CD provided an alternative promotional format as compact discs became increasingly common in the early 1990s.
For the Live Squad archive, the release is notable for including Tha' Lunatic, one of Stretch's earliest officially released collaborations with 2Pac. The recording captures the beginning of the working relationship between Stretch and Tupac Shakur before the pair would go on to collaborate extensively over the following years.
Although the audio content closely mirrors the promotional vinyl edition, PRCD 4178 is a separate release with its own catalogue number and packaging, making it an important collectible in its own right.
