Overview
Thug Life: Volume 1 was the only official Thug Life album released during 2Pac's lifetime. Although the original liner notes only credit Stretch on a handful of recordings, later research, surviving demos and alternate mixes demonstrate that Live Squad's involvement with the project was considerably greater than originally recognised.
The album contains official production by Stretch on Street Fame, an uncredited vocal appearance by Stretch on Under Pressure, and songs whose origins can be traced back to earlier Live Squad recording sessions.
