Overview
So...boom! Promo is a promotional cassette sampler issued by Interscope Records during 1992 to promote selected releases from the label's roster. Distributed to radio stations, retailers and industry contacts, the cassette compiled tracks from a number of artists to showcase forthcoming and current releases.
For the Live Squad archive, this cassette is significant because it includes Murderahh! and Heartless, providing one of the earliest promotional appearances of Live Squad's Tommy Boy-era recordings. It introduced the group's debut commercial material to industry audiences before or alongside wider commercial exposure.
Although never intended for retail sale, So...boom! Promo remains an uncommon promotional item and an important piece of Live Squad history.
