2Pac — VIBE Magazine, April 1995
“2PAC RESPONDS”
About this interview
In April 1995, VIBE Magazine published an interview with Tupac Shakur in which he gave his account of the November 1994 shooting at Quad Recording Studios in Times Square.
The interview is significant to the history of Live Squad because Tupac describes the events that night while identifying Randy “Stretch” Walker as one of the people who accompanied him to the studio.
In his account, Tupac describes arriving at Quad with Stretch, Fred and Zayd, the men waiting outside and inside the building, the robbery and shooting, and what happened immediately afterwards. He also describes his belief that Stretch was going to fight back and gives his account of Stretch's position during the shooting.
The two pages below are presented as an archival recreation of the supplied April 1995 VIBE article.
This interview can be read alongside the later August 1995 VIBE
response by Stretch, which directly addresses Tupac's account of
the shooting.

Stretch in the Interview
Stretch is named several times in Tupac's account. Tupac identifies him as one of the people who accompanied him to Quad Recording Studios and describes what he believed Stretch would do when the gunmen appeared.
Tupac's April 1995 account should be read alongside Stretch's August 1995 VIBE response, in which Stretch gives his own account of the same events and responds directly to Tupac's comments.
